Volunteerhours.org Our Purpose
What is the point of Volunteerhours.org? What is the point of volunteering?
Some students may lose the true meaning of volunteering because they see it as another assignment they have to do to graduate. The true purpose of volunteering is to give back to the community and help improve it through giving time and labor.
The purpose of this blog is to bring the Aurora student body together, and provide a home for people in need of volunteers to be able to reach out and request the help they need. Students will be able to see projects that require volunteers, giving them opportunities to complete their service hour requirements as well as improve and aid their communities.
Volunteerhours.org can be a great tool for volunteers and people in need of volunteers alike.

Volunteers serve in many capacities within organizations by contributing time, energies or talents that help to fulfill the organizations’ mission. Volunteers generate enthusiasm and interest and help to create a positive image of the organization in the community. Volunteers extend and augment the work of paid staff. They can focus on individual clients or subject areas and thus bring new insights, energy and time to the work.
